To celebrate its centenary, Ducati has built the most extreme road-legal motorcycle in its history. The Superleggera V4 Centenario combines a full carbon fibre chassis with a 1,103 cc V4, and Ducati says it is the first road-legal motorcycle to use both carbon-ceramic brake discs and a fork with carbon outer tubes.

A bigger, lighter V4

The Desmosedici Stradale R 1100 engine grows from 998 cc to 1,103 cc through a longer stroke, yet weighs 3.6 kg less than the 1,103 cc Panigale V4 unit with a dry clutch. Inside are titanium intake valves and connecting rods, tungsten crankshaft inserts and desmodromic timing set by hand, confirmed by a signed plate on each engine.

In road trim it produces 228 hp at 14,500 rpm and 117.6 Nm at 10,500 rpm. Fit the Akrapovič racing exhaust supplied with the bike and use Ducati Corse Performance oil, and that rises to 247 hp at 14,750 rpm. The Ducati Racing Gearbox puts neutral below first gear, as on a race bike, with Ducati Neutral Lock to make finding it easier.

Carbon fibre throughout

The front frame, swingarm, rear monocoque and five-spoke wheels are all carbon fibre. The frame is 17% lighter than the aluminium Panigale V4 frame and the swingarm 21% lighter than an aluminium equivalent. Every carbon component is checked with thermography, phased-array ultrasound and computed tomography before it is fitted.

The result is a wet weight without fuel of 173 kg, or 167 kg with the racing kit fitted. With the racing exhaust, that gives a power-to-weight ratio of 1.48 hp per kg.

Brakes, suspension and aerodynamics

Brembo supplies 340 mm carbon-ceramic front discs, each 450 g lighter than a steel disc, gripped by GP4-HY monobloc calipers machined from billet aluminium. Suspension is by Öhlins: an NPX 25/30 Carbon pressurised fork and a TTX36 GP LW rear shock with titanium linkage and tool-free adjustment.

Wings and Corner Sidepods derived from the Panigale V4 R generate downforce at lean, helping the bike hold its line through the middle of the corner. Electronics include cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Slide Control, Power Launch, Quick Shift 2.0 and Engine Brake Control with Dynamic Engine Brake.

A collector's motorcycle

The Rosso Centenario matt red livery with Ducati's white stripes inspired the 2026 MotoGP and WorldSBK team colours. Each of the 500 bikes carries its own number, laser-etched on the bike and shown on the titanium key insert and the dashboard start-up animation. A further 100 Tricolore examples wear a livery inspired by the 750 F1 endurance racers of the 1980s.

Every bike is delivered in a wooden collector's crate with a certificate of authenticity, bike cover, mat and paddock stands, along with a racing kit for track use. The kit includes the Akrapovič exhaust, carbon lower fairing, open carbon clutch cover and a removal kit for the headlight, side stand, plate holder and indicators. It is not approved for road use.
